Job Summary : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NOC (Network Operations Center) Manager to join our team at a prominent MSP based in Charlotte, NC.
This role offers the flexibility of mostly remote work, with occasional on-site visits. As the NOC Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the NOC, ensuring the highest level of network performance, availability, and security.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership and Management :
Lead and manage a team of NOC engineers and technicians.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve NOC operations and performance.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to NOC staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage staff schedules.
- Network Monitoring and Incident Management :
Oversee the monitoring of network systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure prompt detection, diagnosis, and resolution of network issues and incidents.
- Develop and enforce incident response protocols and escalation procedures.
- Coordinate with other departments and clients to address and resolve network-related issues.
- Service Delivery and Performance Management :
Ensure compliance with SLAs and performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain NOC documentation, including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
- Implement and manage network monitoring tools and systems.
- Generate and analyze reports on network performance and incident trends.
- Continuous Improvement :
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to implement network upgrades and enhancements.
- Drive initiatives to enhance network security and reliability.
Qualifications :
- Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network operations or a similar role.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership or managerial position.
- Technical Skills :
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, systems, and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
- Experience with incident management and ITIL processes.
- Familiarity with cloud services and virtualization technologies.
- Soft Skills :
