Applications Engineer - CNC Plasma Cutting Systems - Spokane Valley, WA

Seeking individual with hands-on experience designing, fabricating, and installing automated multi-axis CNC laser and plasma cutting systems into existing production lines for automotive, consumer products and aerospace manufacturers.
WORKSITE VISIT & PROJECT INITIATION :
Visit customer sites to inspect, document, and analyze existing equipment, plant capacity, existing resources, and obstacles.
Collect detailed information on existing customer machinery, components, and subassemblies including serial numbers, model numbers, manufacturers, and condition.
Draw and document facility structures including anchor points, power supplies, wiring conduits, floorplan layout, etc.
PROJECT PLANNING & DESIGN DRAFT :
Present worksite information recommendations, analysis, and customer feedback to engineering peers at home office.
Advocate for customer and provide recommendations to modify designs, layout, component selection, etc.
Plan, design, draw, and document machine placement, equipment layout, and power connections (from transformers to converters to machines).
HQ ENGINEERING TEAM COLLABORATION :
Support design and integration into machinery of programming consoles, programmable controllers, drives, servo motors, power distribution, instrument panels and dashboards, wiring, etc.
Author support, operational, and maintenance documents and manuals.
Develop and monitor fabrication, construction, and installation timelines.
DESIGN REVIEW :
Answer inquiries from headquarters design and engineering teams regarding design decisions and recommendations.
Provide Voice of the Customer (VOC) input during pre-planning, revision, and final design meetings.
FINAL INSTALLATION :
Oversee technicians, electricians, millwrights, and programmers during system fabrication and installation.
Provide hands-on expertise and write, program, test, and debug Graphical User Interface (GUI) CNC programs.
Train customers on equipment use and maintenance.
