We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, focusing on process logic controls, electrical systems, and preventive maintenance.
The Maintenance Technician will work closely with other employees to optimize productivity by ensuring all equipment is set up correctly and operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities :
- Troubleshooting and Repair : Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair material handling equipment, including systems that utilize process logic controls (PLCs) and electrical wiring.
- Preventive Maintenance : Develop and maintain a routine preventive maintenance schedule to minimize equipment downtime, ensuring optimal performance and extending equipment lifespan.
- Electrical Maintenance : Perform basic electrical maintenance tasks, including the simple repair and replacement of electrical circuits, wiring, and related electronic equipment.
- Equipment Optimization : Set and establish proper operational settings for equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Collaboration : Work closely with employees to optimize equipment operation, guiding them on proper set-up and operation to maximize productivity.
Requirements :
High School Diploma, GED, and / or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
- Intermediate PC competency and ability to use mobile apps on handheld devices
- Familiar with simple wiring diagrams, symbols and electrical measuring
- Experience in the following areas :
Work order management
Preventive / predictive maintenance procedures
Commonly used industrial tools
Basic Carpentry and Plumbing
Basic blueprint and schematic reading
Intermediate AC / DC electrical and electronic principles
Intermediate Industrial Controls
- Ability to work independently and make decisions
- Strong time management, organizational, planning, expediting and self-motivation skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
Desired Qualifications :
- Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards
- Experience with Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
- Ability to troubleshoot basic Input / Output functions
- Experience with robotic operation / maintenance
Working Conditions :
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights or weekends if required.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to equipment issues.
