Responsibilities
DUTIES : Teaching, scholarship, and service to the Psychology & Counseling department, the college, and institution at large.
Provide support in course topics including : research, legal and ethical issues, foundations of counseling, career counseling, school violence prevention, and fieldwork courses.
Prepare broadly skilled, reflective practitioners and socially conscious leaders for school counseling careers in Pre-k through 12 settings.
Be able to teach courses that include both school counseling and clinical mental health counseling students.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Doctorate degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Counselor Education or related degree field from a CACREP accredited program, or related field of study and two (2) years of experience as an Assistant Professor of Counseling, Counselor Educator, or related occupation.
Experience must include : applying for and receiving grant Principal Investigator (PI) funding, publishing in peer-reviewed professional journals, and serving as a school counselor or supervisor of school counseling in a pre-K to 12 school setting.
Current membership in a relevant counseling association such as the American Counseling Association (ACA), American School Counselor Association (ASCA), and Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES).
