Colorado State Universitys Office of Equal Opportunity is seeking an Assistant Director of Civil Rights Compliance and Title IX Deputy Coordinator.
This position provides leadership with coordinating University civil rights compliance efforts including : the development, implementation, and monitoring of appropriate policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance with federal and state law pertaining to Civil Rights including Title IX, VAWA, Title VI, Title VII, ADA with university wide oversite of sexual misconduct / harassment.
This position will represent the Office of Civil Rights compliance on related matters within the University and to external agencies;
and coordinating compliance with reporting obligations imposed by applicable state and federal laws as requested by the Executive Director.
The Assistant Director supports the campus and / or school-based strategic efforts aimed at the prevention of discrimination including sexual violence and other forms of sex and / or gender-based discrimination and provide guidance and assistance to alleged victims of discrimination and sexual violence including referral to support resources and notice of right to file internal and external grievances.
The position serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator and works with the Associate Director in the TIXCs absence. This position provides daily supervision and support to the investigation team and oversees the processing of complaints.
The position is responsible for assisting in ensuring case files are up to date and in compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

The Assistant Director reports to the Executive Director of Civil Rights Compliance. This is a 12-month full-time administrative professional position. Required Job Qualifications
- Masters degree in related field.
- 3 years of Title IX / OEO experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Training in conducting investigations and / or internal audits, preferably through a nationally recognized organization.
- General understanding of Title IX, Title VII, ADA, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Guidance, and Office for Civil Rights Guidance.
Preferred Job Qualifications
- JD preferred.
- Leadership experience in OEO / Title IX preferred.
- Experience working in a large university setting.
- Experience working with students, faculty, and staff.

- Issuing Notices of Investigation and Allegations.
- Oversite of the informal resolution process.
- Issuance of measures such as No Contact Orders, academic, residential and other accommodations / adjustments, in accordance with federal regulations.
- Ensuring case files are up to date.

- Provide daily support to the investigative team.
- Serve as Title IX / OEO lead investigator as needed.
- Review investigative reports to ensure procedural compliance.

- Serve as hearing facilitator as needed for Title IX hearings.
- Oversee the development of a University advisor pool (and possibly work with other state universities to have a shared pool).

- Assist in oversite of Title IX compliance regarding pregnancy and related accommodations / adjustments.
- Assist with NCAA disclosure forms.
- Assist with ensuring daily compliance with EEOC, Title IX, VAWA, Clery and other state / federal regulations.
- Update handouts, publications, assist with website updates are required
- Serve on University wide committees.
- Assist with OCR and other external audits.
- Support Associate director in serving in TIXC absence.
