We are currently seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our Test Equipment Design team.
Test Engineering offers an array of innovative test equipment solutions for Collins Aerospace products and programs. We serve internal customers, including our manufacturing and service centers, as well as external commercial and military customers domestic and international.
As an Electrical Engineer specializing in Test Equipment Design, you will play a pivotal role in developing and optimizing test systems for our cutting-edge products.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and refine test equipment that ensures the reliability, performance, and quality of our products.
This position is a full-time, Monday-Friday position and is on-site at our Wilsonville, Oregon facility.
What You Will Do :
- You will develop innovative test equipment and systems for evaluating the performance, reliability, and safety of electronic products.
- You will create detailed electrical schematics and circuit designs tailored to testing requirements.
- You will diagnose and resolve issues with test equipment and systems, both in the design phase and during production.
- You will work with product engineers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders to understand testing needs and integrate feedback into design improvements.
- You will prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for test equipment designs, including schematics, user manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- You will ensure that all test equipment complies with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
What You Will Learn :
- You'll learn how to automated systems that provide test capabilities for today's advanced aerospace vision and sensor technology.
- Collaboration within a multi-disciplined team of electrical, mechanical, optical and systems engineers to create test solutions for military and commercial avionics.
- You will learn test and troubleshooting principles for complex electro optical systems.
- You will gain hands-on experience with specialized test equipment, knowledge of avionics protocols, and the ability to identify and resolve faults in communication, navigation, and flight control systems.
Qualifications You Must Have :
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program / contract.
Qualifications We Prefer :
- Reading / analyzing electrical schematics.
- Cable harness design.
- Knowledge / experience of common test equipment (DMM, scope, power supply, etc.) and common signal protocols (I2C, SPI, LVDS, ARINC).
- Knowledge of signal integrity techniques and of fiber optics.
- Developing specifications / component selection.
