Position Summary
Develop new product formulations and prototypes to support innovation and the R&D Team, ensure formulas stay within cost parameters;
maintain quality of finished goods. Conduct benchtop tests, formula iterations and process development; conduct sensory analysis, maintain thorough documentation, maintain sample and ingredient library.
Essential Job Functions
Develop formulas, processes and procedures; identify new ingredients and materials; develop within strict cost parameters and quality standards;
ensure compliance with internal and external specified requirements / expectations
- Test new ingredients and formula iterations in benchtop kitchen environment
- Maintain thorough documentation of formula iterations, learnings, and procedures; communicate findings with team members
- Assist with sample preparation for internal product cuttings, focus groups, or consumer at-home testing needs
- Develop formulas with current plant production equipment; create processes and procedures for formula replication; works with R&D team and Operations to implement processes
- Maintain and manage ingredient and sample library, including acquiring new ingredients, raw materials, machinery and tools
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Science or Food Science or four (4) years’ work-related experience
- One (1) year experience in product development, Research & Development (R&D) or recipe development
- Knowledge of consumer marketplace, including food trends
- Knowledge of USDA and FDA Regulations
- Ability to work on multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and meet time-sensitive deadlines in a fast paced environment

Physical Requirements
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing.
Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
Work Environment
