Reporting to the Director, assists in the administration of the department's mental health grants, serves as the point of contact on various federal grants to ensure that all grant deliverables as set forth in the grant proposals are met, coordinating efforts with ISBE, external contractors, and awarding agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assists in implementing and monitoring federally funded grant programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance with programmatic and fiscal regulations as set forth in applicable legislation, notice of funding opportunities, and grant award notifications.
- Oversees federal grants to ensure that all grant deliverables are met as set forth in the grant proposals, assisting the program Director and other program staff with coordinating and conducting meetings with external contractors, local education agencies and other state agencies.
- In collaboration with the Director and program staff, assists with budget revisions, development of intergovernmental agreements and / or contracts, and preparing annual, quarterly, and semi-annual programmatic and financial reports for the Director’s review and approval by the Director and the Agency's signing official as required.
- Works in coordination with various ISBE teams and serves as the point of contact for the Survey of Learning Conditions / Climate Survey.
- Provides technical assistance with external stakeholders throughout the survey process.
- Serves as a member of the grant team, writes requests for proposals, reviews and approves grant proposals and related budgets, programmatic reports, provides technical assistance and supports the development of related resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
- Master's degree, or, a Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant professional experience. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
- Two years of experience (in addition to the education requirements) working in education, school-based mental health services, healthcare, school social work, social services, budgets, grant management, staff development, or other related field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PPT, Office 365).
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in school-based mental health services, mental health, school counseling, school psychology, or social-emotional learning.
