Description
Responsible for administrative and organizational support of the recruiting process for the hiring of new attorneys and summer associates.
Key Responsibilities IncludeLaw School Recruitment
- Coordinates the law school recruitment process, including acting as effective liaison with law school career services offices and facilitating participation of firm representatives at school events throughout the academic year.
- Facilitates the scheduling of law school campus interviews, including managing the registration process and all related arrangements, and designs materials to prepare attorneys for on-campus interviews.
- Manages callback interview process, including but not limited to scheduling, greeting and communicating with candidates and selecting attorney interviewers.
- Coordinates and reviews interview feedback. Drafts related recruitment correspondence, coordinates communication with all law student and attorney applicants on behalf of the firm, and maintains recruitment candidate database and files.
- Coordinates lateral attorney and summer associate orientation.
- Aids in the effective engagement and ongoing relationship building with law schools and law student groups to advance the firm’s brand on campuses.
- Represents the firm through membership in Washington Area Legal Recruitment Administrators Association (WALRAA), a local legal recruiting organization.
Summer Associate Program
- In collaboration with the Attorney Recruiting Manager, designs and efficiently coordinates many aspects of the firm’s summer associate program, including pre-arrival processes and communications, orientation, mentoring, and programming.
- Assist the Attorney Recruiting Manager with the evaluation process for summer associates.
Lateral Recruitment
- In collaboration with the Attorney Recruiting Manager, assist with the tracking, scheduling, and greeting of lateral attorney candidates in the pipeline.
- Help update and maintain accurate records in legal recruiting database LawCruit.
- Performs additional tasks as needed.
Diversity
- Manages the firm’s relationships with law school affinity groups and facilitates firm sponsorship and participation in student programs and activities.
- Assists with the coordination of the Annual 1L Demystifying the Large Law Firm practice event aimed specifically at finding diverse top legal talent.
- Reviews competitive market information and contributes ideas to further the firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of law firm recruiting experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of summer associate recruiting lifecycle.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong writing skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work well under pressure and with rapidly changing priorities.
- Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail.
- Ability to keep confidences and to interface diplomatically with lawyers and staff.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and LawCruit (or similar recruiting database).
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree required.
