Job Summary
Teach NAS101D : Science Concepts Life Sciences, a required course for students majoring in elementary education. This is a half-semester, lab-based course.
Responsibilities
- Teach fundamental concepts and processes of life science course for students majoring in elementary education, focusing on the means by which science knowledge is produced through inquiry-based activities, which are an important, active-learning component in elementary school education
- Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline
Skills
- Effective teaching and pedagogy practices
- Knowledge of 2019 MN State Science Standards preferred
- Experience with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) preferred
- Knowledge of A Framework for K-12 Science Education : Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, and Core Ideas preferred
Experience
Certification and K 12 teaching experience preferred
Education
Minimum of a Master’s degree in a Life Science field required
