Summary

The Michigan Value Collaborative (MVC), housed at the University of Michigan, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join the team in the role of Site Engagement Coordinator.

The MVC is a statewide collaborative quality initiative (CQI), aiming to improve the health of Michigan through sustainable, high-value healthcare and enable Michigan patients to access the right care, at the right cost, at the right time.

MVC provides member organizations with claims-based healthcare utilization data to empower local quality improvement activities.

In addition to leveraging claims data, MVC provides an infrastructure for collaboration and the sharing of best practices between its member hospitals and physician organizations.

The Site Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with MVC members, along with identifying novel strategies to expand MVCs membership.

This will include, but is not limited to, conducting site visits, facilitating workgroups, and presenting on MVC related activity.

The Site Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the Engagement Manager and co-Site Engagement Coordinator, along with members of MVCs Analytics Team.

The Site Engagement Coordinator is an excellent opportunity to make innovative and impactful contributions to MVCs statewide improvement efforts.

Ideal candidates must be innovative, solutions-driven, effective communicators, and value interpersonal relationships. Work will be independent on many projects and will also include collaborative work with colleagues in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively multi-task and manage multiple projects at a time.

Responsibilities*

Develops strong relationships with executive leaders and site coordinators participating MVC hospital, physician organization, and health system members;

implements current activity and designs new content to engage current members and recruit new sites.

  • Supports the planning and delivery of MVC events, including virtual and in-person sites visits, virtual workgroups, collaborative wide meetings, networking events, and other outreach efforts.
  • Collaborates with the MVC analytics team on metric development to assess and improve quality improvement initiatives for MVC members and key stakeholders;

tracks, measures, and analyzes MVCs member outreach efforts for measurement of quality or cost improvement.

Applies knowledge of quality improvement, data analytics, and healthcare best practices to support MVC members, CQI partners, and key stakeholders;

translate analytic and business needs into actionable deliverables for MVC members.

  • Effectively communicates MVCs data analytics via accessible and impactful content for diverse audiences; educates MVC members on functionality and use-cases for MVCs data registry.
  • Draft presentations and present on MVC related activity; support external communications regarding MVC activities and upcoming events.

Required Qualifications*

  • Minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Bachelors degree in public health, nursing, health services administration, business, or related field / discipline.
  • Background or experience leading process or quality improvement initiatives in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage competing demands and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, video conferencing, Qualtrics, and other collaborative software tools.
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Professional, team-driven attitude, and proven ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to travel as needed within the state of Michigan.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Masters degree in health informatics, business, public health, health services administration, or related field / discipline.
  • Knowledge of administrative claims data.
  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting process measures, clinical outcomes, and costs of care.
  • Training or certification in process / quality improvement methodology such as Lean / Six Sigma.
  • Previous experience working with statewide consortiums.
  • Knowledge or experience working with the BCBSM Collaborative Quality Initiatives.
