How we go about our work is just as important as the work we do. Position Overview : As a Machinist at Bradken based in Tacoma, Washington, you will play a crucial role in the production process, operating various machinery to manufacture precision components for our diverse range of products.

You will work as part of a skilled team in a dynamic manufacturing environment, contributing to the production of high-quality parts that meet customer specifications and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Run & operate medium to large Conventional Vertical Lathe’s & Horizontal Boring Machines along with miscellaneous lathes & milling operations.
• Set-up and program machine equipment
• Work to hold Scheduling and maintain a good workflow
• Create maintenance work orders as needed to keep the equipment and tools in good working order
• Perform preventative maintenance necessary for the Machine Tool
• Participate in cost saving or process improvement projects
• Maintain good housekeeping at your work station
• Immediately correct safety issues that are within your area and alert management to any safety issues that need further attention

Qualifications :

• Self-motivated and able to work well with others
• Advance blueprint reading and basic understanding of geometric dimension tolerancing
• Ability to use various methods of measurement tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strives for accuracy and compliance
• Able to wear all required personal protective equipment
• Understanding of all the basics and advance tooling application on conventional and CNC machine workstations
• Basic math skills : addition, subtraction, multiplication, division

Experience :

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Apprenticeship certificate or equal is a plus
• Experience running and operating conventional medium to large vertical lathes & horizontal boring machines with programming at the machine tool work station preferred

Skills and Knowledge :

• Prefer computer skills knowledge
• Strong mathematical skills
• CNC Programming

Physical Requirements :

• Must be able to use arms, hands, legs and feet in repetitive motions
• Must be able to twist, stoop, bend, and stand in the performance of job duties
• Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for the duration of the shift

Shift : Monday - Friday, 3 : 15PM - 11 : 45PM

Pay Range : $25.67 - $40.41 / hr(depending on experience)
