Primary Role Position can be based in either Camden, NJ or in Mechanicsburg, PA The Sr Analyst, Engineering Planning supports the coordination and administration of the capital planning and asset management functions within the engineering department.
- Focus is on water resource projects and activities to support the engineering function, including all or part of the following duties : data input / analysis for department / functional processes and performance monitoring / reporting;
- procurement; capital program spend tracking; fixed asset and job cost order processing; expense spend tracking; inventory control, asset records management;
preparation and maintenance of documentation, general support and administration of projects and department needs; and special projects.
LI-DM1 Key Accountabilities
- Effectively coordinate and administer functional support work processes for activities including engineering capital planning and asset management for varying water resource system projects.
- Input and analyze data for department work processes, business systems and reports. Prepare variance reports as required.
- Assists in preparation of documents related to the capital investment budget. Assists in monitoring expenditures to budget according to the Capital Program Management policies and procedures.
- Prepare and analyze or contribute to department or functional key performance indicator reports and dashboards.
- Support procurement of materials and services and effectively utilize business system and procurement agreements.
- Prepare and maintain files, records, drawings, reports, maps, charts, budgets, and other data related to engineering and construction projects. Knowledge / Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; e.g., listening, presentation, report writing, etc.
- Interpersonal skills; e.g., tact, diplomacy, persuasion, cooperation, ability to influence and motivate functional and cross-functional peers and decisions, etc.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Strong Project Management skills
- Internal consulting skills; e.g., technical, analytical, problem solving, etc
- Computer literacy. Competent in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, flow-charting, project scheduling.
- Financial analysis skill, including budget management and basic accounting knowledge.
- General knowledge of GIS methodologies, ESRI software, geocoding techniques, data model formats, data conversion practices GIS workflows, including remote sensing, GPS, desktop mapping, web and database applications and GIS interoperability.
- Knowledge of geocoding, address matching, topology interpolation of linear and non-linear data and relational databases preferred.
- Ability to conduct thorough analyses and evaluations, render and implement timely decisions and recommendations. Experience / Education
- 5 years’ experience in utility operations, engineering, construction, or financial support role preferred.
- Associate’s degree in a related field (Engineering Technology or Science).
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred (Engineering or science-focused). Travel Requirements
- Periodic local travel; generally, less than 10% of total time is anticipated away from office. Certifications & Licenses
