SUMMARY :
The Materials Manager Panel is responsible for managing and overseeing the inventory of Carbon, Stainless, and Aluminum panel materials, including their transfer between multiple Ohio Gratings, Inc.
locations and facilities. This position ensures overall panel quality, bundling, and inventory levels while working closely with cross-functional teams to meet quality, inventory, transfer, fabrication, and production needs.
The role focuses on reducing material touchpoints and improving process efficiency.
Key responsibilities include panel quality inspections, inventory management, and people management tasks such as interviewing applicants, training associates, and managing performance.
The role also involves planning, assigning, and directing work; providing ongoing performance management, coaching, and corrective actions;
and resolving issues. Daily execution tasks include ERP operations, shift meetings, and managing time and attendance. Strong collaboration with other departments is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage and oversee the bundling and inventory of all panels across all buildings within the Canton campus.
- Lead, manage, and hold accountable floor associates in Material Handling.
- Conduct panel quality inspections and grading.
- Monitor inventory, movement, transactions, and demand for all panels.
- Plan and execute the transfer truck process in collaboration with Manufacturing Planners.
- Own and ensure accuracy in the inventory management process.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Planning for panel demand.
- Process requests to determine the best options for panel movement to increase profitability.
- Train teams to reduce material touchpoints and move materials with purpose.
- Utilize Microsoft Office effectively.
- Perform supervisory and managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, managing time, training associates, assigning work, appraising performance, issuing corrective actions, addressing complaints, resolving problems, and supporting career development.
- Maintain effective communication and cooperation between departments and functions within areas of responsibility.
- Support and drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout areas of responsibility.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES :
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in mathematics, business, or economics is preferred.
Previous leadership experience is a plus.
- Experience working with ERP systems; Epicor experience preferred.
- Ability to read tape measures and scales and perform mathematical operations of whole numbers and fractions in both standard and metric units of measure.
