Licensed Residential Builder

Our team is looking for a reliable and experienced South Carolina-licensed residential builder to join our construction company, J&W Construction & Design.

The ideal applicant will have great communication skills, several years of construction industry experience, solid organizational and planning skills and be up to date with building codes, safety standards, construction methods, and project planning.

You will review building plans, complete estimates, manage the crew and create their schedules, monitor job budgets, conduct thorough worksite, manage the project manager and work crew and subs below you, and monitor construction sites for regulation and code conformance.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee construction activities and conformance to general public safety standards throughout all phases of construction at building sites
• Evaluate blueprints and building plans to be sure they meet contract specifications, zoning regulations, local building code ordinances, and electrical code safety standards
• Maintain detailed and accurate daily logs and photos for inspection recordkeeping

Qualifications :

• Strong communication and decision-making skills, and mechanical knowledge are needed
• Some college or technical education in the area of engineering, building inspection technology, construction management, or construction technology is valuable, but a high school diploma is required
• Knowledge of zoning regulations, construction methods, inspection techniques, and state and local safety regulations and ordinances is vital
• Requires a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• 2-3 years of construction industry experience is desired working with construction trades as a plumbing inspector, real estate home inspector, or mechanical inspector
