Nitty Gritty

Just as the job title suggests, your primary function will be to design and implement a set of security solutions whose architecture is smart, impenetrable, fluid and flexible.

You’ll be setting the security policy standards and establishing best practices and a code of conduct, and you’ll execute regulatory compliance assessments on a regular basis.

You’ll oversee rigorous penetration testing across every conceivable point of entry into the institution : phones, hospital rooms, building access, cloud data.

The trick of it, of course, will not be unfamiliar to someone of your experience : building security systems that allow for robust data-sharing and openness where appropriate, while still protecting the hell out of sensitive information.

So, questions you’ll be asking yourself : How do we balance security and functionality? How can we bake security into the next generation of apps and features?

How will we keep hackers out of pacemakers, or, Lord help us, brain implants? You’ll bring your varied and deep experience to bear in addressing all of these concerns and more.

You live for this stuff. You think about it, you read about it, you talk about it, and you’ve been working at it for many years, in a breadth of security areas : network security, OS security, application security, cloud security.

Your expertise goes beyond Linux, beyond firewalls; your vision encompasses not just the individual layers but the entire onion.
