So, it is our pleasure to announce that we are currently seeking a full-time candidate for the role of House Manager (HM), to join our team! Veterans preferred for specific VA Shelter locations.

By ICL definition, under the direct supervision of the Operations Director, a House Manager or Client Care Manager is someone primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of assigned counselors, residence social services staff, support and security staff, and others , while overseeing activities of the residents and monitoring physical plant conditions that impact the safety and security of residents, staff and facility assets.

MIN. ROLE REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCES :

  • LOCATION : LIC, NY 11101 + Available 5 Days min. Monday to Sunday, with options for Shift : Days & Hours TBD
  • EDU / EXP : degree options below MUST be majored and / or concentrating (min. 24 credits) in the following management and / or human service fields business administration or management, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, recreation / recreation therapy, counseling, sociology, community mental health, child and family studies, speech and hearing OR a practicum encompassing a substantial number of activities with the target population, alongside coinciding experience preferably in a shelter setting BA Degree and 1+ years of supervisory and / or relevant human services exp.

AA Degree and 3+ years of supervisory and / or relevant human services exp.GED / HSE or HS Diploma and 5+ years of supervisory and / or relevant human services exp.

  • LICENSING : Valid State Driver’s ID (CDL, General Class D orClass A, B, or C licensing accepted) NY, NJ, CT or PA preferred
  • Proper attire always this includes work pants, boots, and outer / inner-wear with the ICL company logo (provided after training)

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and stretch for long periods of time
  • Ability to effectively use computer software such as MS Word and Outlook
  • Ability to consistently report for work as scheduled, being on-call if needed
  • Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor, including lifting objects weighing up to 25+ lbs
  • Ability to work in a setting with diverse individuals with mental illness and / or behavioral disorders
  • Strong problem-identification and solving skills with an awareness of self and one’s impact on others
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team, to conform to all applicable safety and accountability measures
  • Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, writing, and conveying skills bi-lingual is a plus but not mandatory
  • Ability to manage resources, multiple projects, delegate tasks, and ensure completion of all tasks assigned and delegated
  • Ability to continually learn and apply knowledge with a willingness to participate in in-service training and development activities
  • Ability to develop, evaluate, implement, and modify a case management plan, meeting all deadlines and productivity standards
  • Ability to learn, understand, and comply with all internal & external state & city regulations, policies, and procedures regarding house mgmt.

HOUSE MANAGER TASKS :

Clinical Support assist in providing clinical services; serve as the liaison between clients and clinical staff; meet with clinical staff to get up-to-date info on clients;

escort new intakes to the clinic for risk assessment interviews within the established time frame

Housing Support work collaboratively with onsite security; coordinate and conduct fire drills as scheduled; ensure the program is following all state and federal regulations and all ICL policies and procedures;

participate in all activities to improve the quality of services provided

  • Resident Support assist in the admission and orientation of new residents; conduct intake interviews; educate clients on facility rules and regulations;
  • maintain accurate head count; monitor the census and placement of clients to assure compliance with DHS rules and regulations;
  • ensure appropriate crisis intervention as needed; serve as a role model to residents; be aware of other’s reactions and understanding why they react the way they do;

help residents to be compassionate and hopeful

Admin Support promptly, maintain a logbook documenting all activities in the shelter on the assigned shift and noting any variance to the normal day-to-day operations;

email copies of shift and daily activity reports to mgmt. after each tour; develop precise and detailed incident reports to be provided to mgmt.

responsible for ensuring accuracy of and completion of required documentation; with the Operations Dir.’s approval, establish and maintain work schedules in accordance with ICL policies and procedures

  • Staff Support direct and supervise staff; assign and coordinate staff activities and integrate as part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • ensure staff operate according to all government regulations and ICL policies and procedures; provide oversight for assigned staff shifts;
  • conduct staff supervision in accordance with division expectations and ICL procedures; ensure staff receive relevant information regarding program operations;

ensure assigned staff’s compliance with agency time and attendance policy; regularly review and monitor staff activities, making recommendations to Ops. Director

Supervisory Support provide quality mgmt. oversight; provide direct care coverage as needed; assist in the recruitment, selection, training and orientation of new employees;

manage and oversee all aspects of the facility in the absence of the Program Dir., Assistant Dir., Dir. of Operations and / or Social Services Dir.

with the Operations Dir.’s approval, conducts disciplinary action as needed, ensuring that Plans of Corrective Action are implemented and adhered to;

work with residents, families, and staff in a caring and respectful manner, and with due understanding of and consideration for cultural differences

  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned in an organized and detail-oriented manner
