The Senior Manager role in New Business is responsible for managing and developing their direct reports to ensure that business operations are running efficiently and that each individual’s performance meets the company and departmental standards.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to managing priorities, developing and implementing strategic plans and initiatives, monitoring KPIs, managing budgets and project timelines, and identifying areas for process improvement.

This role requires a significant amount of collaboration and coordination with other teams.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement strategies that align with the company’s overall goals and objectives
  • Analyze data and make recommendations for improvements to processes, procedures, and systems
  • Monitor and control project progress, objectives, and costs against the established schedule and budget
  • Collaborate and build relationships with company leaders and both internal and external stakeholders
  • Guide, mentor, and manage direct reports, providing support as needed
  • Maximize employee performance by identifying inefficiencies and streamlining workflows
  • Maintain an updated succession plan that includes career pathing and professional developmental goals
  • Additional department duties as needed by management

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to work well with others and motivate a team in a high volume production environment
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with proven experience in meeting deadlines
  • Advanced problem solving, critical thinking, coaching, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
  • Ability to develop and present on department status, projects, and / or educational programs and workshops
  • Advanced knowledge of computers, especially Microsoft Office
  • Highly dependable and trustworthy

Required Experience

  • Some college coursework or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Prior management experience is required
  • At least 1 year of experience working in an office setting is required
  • Proven organizational skills, including but not limited to effective problem solving, decision making, delegation, coaching, adaptability, and taking initiative
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, a plus
