Job Summary : The Battery Pack Engineering Lead is responsible for the cross-functional engineering execution of High Voltage Battery Pack development programs at American Battery Solutions (ABS).
They work as the primary customer-facing lead for development and launch support, and internally are responsible for leading the Pack Electro-Mechanical, Battery Management System (Hardware and Software), Systems Engineering, and Validation functions to ensure successful program execution within the proper milestones and expectations.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the engineering cross-functional team in project execution, aligning the project overall milestones to the necessary deliverables and expectations of each engineering group (Pack electro-mechanical, Systems, BMS Hardware, Software, and Validation).
- Act as the primary technical interface to internal & external customers.
- Apply technical knowledge to the on-time delivery of work products through the product development life cycle; utilize awareness of pack components status to proactively identify and mitigate risks in design delivery.
- Serve as a mentor to Design Release Engineers.
- Specify pack components, materials, & solutions to ensure products meet internal and customer requirements.
- Key contributor to system DFMEA / PFMEA and DVP&R.
- Lead Product and Process design reviews.
- Work closely with counterparts in Program Management and Manufacturing on behalf of Engineering to ensure successful product delivery.
- Support prototype builds ensuring parts are on time and to print; resolve engineering issues in a timely manner.
- Lead team in problem solving and issue resolution for internal and customer-facing issues.
- Provide technical support to production manufacturing and Quality teams to troubleshoot issues with product components and assemblies.
- Expand professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars and conferences, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Contribute to team growth by completing projects in a timely manner.

Position Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Systems Engineering or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in electrification product design or product development.
- Demonstrated project technical leadership experience in complex electromechanical systems.
- Adept in troubleshooting methods and disciplined documentation of findings.
- Proficient in understanding CAE models, and deciphering boundary conditions, assumptions, and model limitations.
- Adept in data processing and statistical analysis.
- Effective communicator, capable of concisely presenting highly technical test data to internal and external customers, and effectively communicating with suppliers.
- Educated on common automotive & industry standards.
- Familiar with the product development process.
- Self-motivated problem solver; pays attention to details.
