This Lecturer position warrants a faculty member responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of assigned courses aligned with high standards and expectations to ensure educational quality
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Contribute to didactic teaching, laboratory, and clinical practicum courses in the Nursing program as assigned (12 credits per Fall and Spring semesters)
- Provide constructive and accurate academic advising to nursing students.
- Demonstrates service within the program, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and University committees
Qualifications
Education, Qualifications & Experience
- An earned doctorate in nursing or related field from an accredited university is preferred.
- Masters of Science in Nursing required
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Illinois
- Certification in area of Psychiatric specialty preferred.
- Evidence of excellent teaching ability or potential. Online experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Enthusiasm toward serving a diverse student population

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in advanced functions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to write reports and correspondence and to speak effectively to various constituencies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information and to handle sensitive matters with judgement, tact, and diplomacy.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and prioritize.
- Able to facilitate teamwork in an environment dealing with a broad range of issues.
