Job Description :
We are seeking a dedicated Environmental or Engineering Technician to join our team. This opportunity, based in Boca Raton, Florida, is perfect for individuals looking to build a career in the environmental construction and consulting fields.
The role involves a variety of responsibilities including compiling construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring data, overseeing environmental and remediation construction projects, and providing field and office support to geologists and engineers.
The candidate will sometimes work independently, and at other times as part of a larger field support team on site-specific project tasks.
The role requires a willingness to work outdoors, perform extensive fieldwork, and travel for extended periods, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). (required).
- Up to two (2) years of applicable experience. (preferred).
- Experience ensuring field activities comply with construction plans and specifications and the ability to monitor several different types of activities simultaneously. (preferred)
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, including survey and topographical drawings. (preferred)
- Experience with the operation of industry-typical monitoring and data collection equipment, including but not limited laptop and handheld computers, Troxler moisture / density gauges, scales, Elkins or GEM, and other equipment. (preferred)
- Experience with multi-media sampling including soil, water, and air. (preferred).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs. (required)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, compute rate, ratio, percent, and draw and interpret bar graphs. (required)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, and strong work ethic. (required)
- Ability to regularly lift and / or move up to 49 pounds unaided and 50-100 pounds with assistance and / or proper engineering controls. (required)
- Ability to speak and hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. (required)
- Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
- Valid . driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation, for business travel. (required)
Work Environment
- Work outdoors, perform extensive fieldwork, and travel for extensive periods, including overnights, weekends, and holidays required.
- Fieldwork : Up to 90%
- Overnight travel : Up to 90%
- Must be located in Palm Beach County-Broward County to stay close to management.
- Must be able to travel for up to 200 days at a time.
- Minimum 8-10 hours / day, some Saturdays. 50-60 hours / week.
- Typically expense mileage for travel
- Company Car- may be provided if needed. Must be returned at the end of the day.
