Paving Estimator

Position : Paving Estimator

The Paving Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating costs and timelines for paving projects. They will collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure that projects are completed within budget and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project requirements
• Collaborate with project managers to determine project scope, timelines, and budget
• Prepare bids and proposals for paving projects
• Collect and analyze data to accurately estimate costs for labor, materials, and equipment
• Conduct site visits and inspections to gather necessary information for accurate estimations
• Communicate with contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services
• Create and maintain a database of costs and pricing for future reference
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in paving technology and materials
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including DOT, FDOT, and municipal guidelines

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in paving estimation or a similar role
• Extensive knowledge of paving techniques, materials, and equipment
• Proficiency in HCSS and B2W estimating software
• Familiarity with DOT, FDOT, and municipal regulations and guidelines
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Attention to detail and accuracy
