Security Data Transfer Officer
Washington, DC (Hybrid)
This position requires U.S. Citizenship, and the candidate must have a current active, Secret clearance or greater.
- Provide on-going support for the declarations and notices sites on client’s classified network; maintain familiarity with client’s Classification Guide, applicable classification marking requirement, and the data types in use by the specific classified network;
- will review all requests for transfers from the classified network to the unclassified network and provide written approval of any permissible requests;
- provide a full analysis of files that cannot be moved down, specifying in detail why material is not permissible for move down;
perform classification marking reviews of documentation maintained by the classified network and provide feedback on any instances of mismarking discovered.
Additional Responsibilities :
Assist with any data spill cleanup required; supervising personnel cleaning up spills, performing spill cleanup on various networks, and documenting spill cleanup activities according to Incident Response plans.

Documents approved for transfer (count)
Documents awaiting approval for transfer (count)
Documents declined for transfer (count)
Explanation of declined file transfers.
Spill cleanup report
Positive assertions that cleanup is complete.
Details of where spill was removed from.
Residual risk statement covering any data that could not be cleaned up
Monthly Task Progress Reports : same data as weekly report, rolled into monthly totals plus :
Discussion of any logistical issues or problems with the data transfer process.
Required Skills and Experience :
Five+ years' experience of data classification, declassification, and classification reviews
Active Security+ certification
Strong desire to learn, and specifically to learn the network process, consistent with need to know.
Strong communication skill to understand and communicate data scope, breadth, and depth.
Expert level communication skills in the English language; talking / negotiating with global stakeholders in English.
Expert level skill for collecting and understanding IT information.
Education : master’s degree in an IT-related field (e.g., cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering) with 5+ years of experience in an IT-related field;
or a bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience in an IT related field
5+ years’ experience working in information technology (IT) environment or in a related field.
Preferred Skills :
Certifications of Dynamics products or other MS products (MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP)
