We are looking for a Customer Services DataAnalysis Intern. This position will be based at our Wilmington / New Castle areabranch in Delaware.

During your summer journey with us, you will have theopportunity to immerse yourself as a Data Analysis Internship inthe Rail Asset Management and Performance Center (RAMP) where you will learnhow to monitor railroad vehicle fleet performance (Locos and trains), analyzeequipment failure data (remote connectivity), assist in the team in variouscases of connecting the dots from technical failures and service interruptionsto repair & fix, diagnostic and driving down to root cause for theoriginating source of the problem for our Siemens trains to make them ever morereliable.

A little bit about us :

Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinatedtransportation of people and goods by rail including rolling stock, railautomation, rail electrification, and service.

We craft and manufacture acrossthe entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passengertrains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, andhigh-speed trainsets.

Cities and Railroads also rely on us to providetraction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signalingand control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

How does Customer Service play into the bigpicture?

The RAMP team features a mechanical desk which acts as afirst level of support, assisting train crew with troubleshooting over thephone in case something goes wrong while on the road’;

Data Analysts whocrunch all remote diagnostic data coming from our vehicles and PerformanceManager who continuously drive for improvement of our equipment.

What your day-to-day will look like :

  • Learnabout our standard processes.
  • Workwith all the different RAMP groups; starting with the mechanical desk to followtrain operations in Wilmington, DE, then having the option to move on to ourexpert data analytics team or Engineering teams in our Siemens New Castle, DEfacility.

Continue to work through the processing and interpretation of dataand insights by working with our performance and change managers to make finaldecisions related to important business outcomes.

  • Learnabout and create Weibull analysis
  • Learnabout analytical programs such as Power BI and Spotfire; create reports anddashboards that contribute to actionable outcomes
  • Learnabout how a locomotive works through training and shadowing and through theassignment of relevant tasks to build up your practical knowledge.
  • Interfacewith different areas of the RAMP, Modifications and Engineering departments andlearn about how collaboration drives success

Who Should Apply?

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanceddegree in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or similar from anaccredited college or university
  • Availability : 40 hours perweek from June to August
  • Work Authorization : Applicants must be legallyauthorized for employment in the United States without the need for current orfuture employer-sponsored work authorization
  • Prior internship or co-op experience (preferred) with apreferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must reside or go to school near internship location (Sacramento, CA)

You’ll benefit from :

The hourly pay range for this position is $22 - $26 perhour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wageoffered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience,knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.

Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401Kprogram.
