Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Chip Architect to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our advanced IC development.
The successful candidate will be a key contributor responsible for architecting, prototyping, designing, and implementing advanced IC architectures for power management particularly Digital Multiphase DC-DC controllers in high-performance compute applications for Cloud (AI servers, Data-centers) and Client (Desktop and Notebook).
The ideal candidate should have experience in power stages partnered with these digital multiphase controllers. This is a role that requires deep technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a track record of innovation and successful project delivery.
Responsibilities :
- Chip Architecture Lead the architectural definition and design of complex, high-performance Digital Multiphase controllers System modeling (Simplis, Matlab or equivalent) of the complete digital multiphase controller for various application use case and deriving block level specification meeting system requirements Design and implement high performance PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) for Digital Multiphase controllers including FPGA prototyping for Proof-of-concept (POC) Develop innovative solutions for advanced digital multi-phase converters to power high-performance CPUs and GPU supporting Intel VRx SVID, AMD SVI3, and other Arm based AVSbus applications.
- Collaboration and Leadership : Provide technical leadership and mentorship to design teams across global locations Collaborate with firmware engineers, and product development teams to define and integrate complex mixed-signal systems.
Work closely with marketing, application, firmware / sofrware and product definition team to ensure competitive product definition with ease-to-use interface for customers Work closely with product development teams to ensure right hand-off from Proof-of-concept to implementation and final product delivery
Technical Excellence : Develop and validate advanced multi-phase digital controllers and integrated power-stage ICs. Propose and implement the right control loop to meet the requirements of high-performance CPUs and GPU supporting Intel VRx SVID, AMD SVI3, and other Arm based AVSbus applications.
Implement RTL for PID controller and validate on pre-silicon and post-silicon platforms.
Qualfications :
- Educational Background : MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience : Over 15 years of experience in Analog and Mixed-Signal IC design and architecture. Past success in multi-phase digital controllers, and advanced digital power DCDC converter technology.
Proven track record in the design and development of advanced analog / mixed-signal IPs for telecommunications, data communications, and power management.
- Technical Skills : Proficient in modeling of complex control systems for DC-DC converters and defining architectures. Proficient in PID controller, its modeling, prototyping, implementation and validation Solid understanding of various Power Converters such as Buck, Boost, LDOs, and relevant building blocks Solid understanding of topologies and architectures for Constant-on-time, Peak, and Valley Current Mode, Voltage Mode, Hysteretic, Multi-Phase Controllers, and Smart Power Stages Familiarity with embedded processor design, C programming, and firmware development.
- Soft Skills : Strong leadership and mentorship abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with global design experience.
Ability to manage and drive projects from concept to production release.
