Flagship is seeking a Director of Operations who will oversee multiple sites and be vital to Flagship’s gold standard in client care.
This role will operate at a high level, have visibility directly with executive leadership and be client facing. It will also require at least 50% travel to Denver, Minneapolis, and Salt Lake City.

The Director of Operations will work closely with the Vice President of Operations to develop and execute a variety of strategies to maximize profits while maintaining an acceptable level of service quality within the assigned region.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of relationship management, safety, employee Relations, and overall management of facilities maintenance and custodial staff.

Essential Functions
- Oversee day to day operation of business functions
- Ensure each site is running efficiently, maximizing profitability and meeting or exceeding client satisfaction
- Participates in goal setting, planning and executive decision-making1
- Directing and coordinating all activities to develop and implement long range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives.
- Establishes budgets and goals in coordination with executive leadership and business strategy.
- Ensures that budget goals are met in terms of revenue and expenses.
- Ensures goods and / or services are being met or exceed company quality standards.
- Continually seek ways to improve organizational efficiency, effectiveness, growth and profitability.
- Meets data analysis and reporting requirements necessary for efficient operations.
- Provides a positive leadership role model for all employees by mentoring and training Flagship teams at various sites.
- Ability to work with client to craft innovative solutions to address any client problems and issues.
- Meets with client regularly to discuss employees’ performance, opportunities, challenges, and other ways we can assist them
- Oversees facilities and safety training programs
- Interview, hire, and manage all team leaders at each site, providing mentorship as needed.
- Collaborates with the VP of Operations to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the growth objectives of the company.
Knowledge and Skills
- Service oriented, hands-on lead where you’ll help make people more effective and be the Subject Matter Expert in all of your facility / janitorial related matters.
- Ability to multi-task in fast- paced environment with constantly changing priorities and high customer demand.
- Represents a knowledgeable, efficient, and professional image of company to client by handling business in a respectful and professional demeanor.
- Strong communicator with excellent people management skills, internal as well as vendor and external partners.
- Strong project management ability and problem solving skills.
- Strong knowledge and background in facility services.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team; an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
- Microsoft Office skills, i.e. Excel, Word plus, Gmail, Google docs, Google calendar.
- Detail oriented high performer with excellent record keeping and organizational skills.
- Spanish bi-lingual preferred but not required
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is preferred, but will consider candidates with solid relevant experience without degrees
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in facilities management in the janitorial space
- 5 to 7 years’ experience in account management
Work Environment
- Small-to-large office environment
- Fast paced office environment.
- Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and client environments.
