BHS Corrugated is seeking a Technical Document Specialist to join our growing team in our Hanover Park, IL office!

Summary :

This position will be responsible for curating, publishing, editing and potentially creating technical documentation that supports the functions of all technicians, while also functioning as the regional system lead / owner for the BHS Knowledge Portal.

Expanding a consistent central point of reference documentation for BHS Service, M2P, Installation, and future technical functions.

This is a hybrid position requiring 10-20% travel. This position will be responsible for curating, publishing, editing and potentially creating technical documentation that supports the functions of all technicians, while also functioning as the regional system lead / owner for the BHS Knowledge Portal.

This is a hybrid position requiring 10-20% travel. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of our Hanover Park, IL office.

Candidates outside of a reasonable commuting distance to our Hanover Park, IL office will not be considered.

Responsibilities :

• Review and curate content submitted by NASA regional technicians, verified by regional and / or global Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), with a focus on the technical content need to install, service, and upgrade corrugators.
• Collaborates with functional teams to develop and update current technical documentation utilized by our technician community.
• Identifies opportunities to expand and enhance the quality of technical documents with optimal media.
• Consults with Training and functional teams to identify documentation gaps and resolves them with regional and headquarter content knowledge owners.
• Assist in the administration and maintenance of the training management system and associated records of course attendance and completion.
• Identifies and aligns all relevant metadata to digital resources are directly accessible for technicians.
• Administers the Service Express content management system and owns the system and functions for the region.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, organizational development, or another curation or data management-related field.
• Strong understanding of documentation development tools, as well as content management system administration.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are a must. Ability to successfully interact and understand technical concepts and processes.
• Project management skills and focus that assure milestones / goals are met, adhering to established timelines.
• Proficiency in guiding employees through technical products and processes.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit at a desk for 8 hours a day as this position will require being in our offices
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
• 10 20% travel to BHS sites domestically as well as some international travel to our parent in Germany.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft products, like Teams and SharePoint and other potential documentation and content management resources.

Salary & Benefits :

The salary range offered for this position is $70k - $80k per year.
