A boutique construction consultancy, specialising in education projects, is seeking a dedicated Principal Designer to join their new dynamic team in Suffolk.
The successful Principal Designer will play a key role in managing and delivering high-quality design and construction projects across the education sector.

The Principal Designer Responsibilities
- Overseeing the design and construction process to ensure compliance with CDM regulations.
- Managing design risk assessments and providing CDM advice to clients and project teams.
- Preparing and reviewing pre-construction information (PCI) and construction phase plans (CPP).
- Conducting site visits and health and safety audits to ensure project safety and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver successful projects.
- Leading CDM workshops and training sessions for project teams.
The Principal Designer Must Have
- Proven experience in delivering Principal Designer services within the construction industry, preferably in education projects.
- A strong understanding of CDM regulations and health and safety requirements.
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Membership in a recognised professional body (e.g., IOSH, APS).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive and client-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
