The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria seeks a child and adolescent psychiatrist with a strong interest in graduate medical education and desire to assist in leading our effort to develop a new child and adolescent psychiatry (CAP) fellowship.
This CAP Fellowship Director is a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Our department has worked closely with our partner hospitals to prepare for the development of a new CAP training program.

The success of the general psychiatry program and the experience of the current faculty offer ample support to the incoming CAP Director as the new program evolves.

This position will assist in leading our effort to develop a new child and adolescent psychiatry (CAP) fellowship.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Development of an ACGME accredited child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship.
- Administration of the program and accountable for operations, teaching, scholarly activity, recruitment and selection, faculty development, orientation, evaluation, and promotion.
- Direct inpatient and outpatient patient care.
- Supervision and teaching of general psychiatry residents and medical students.
- Function as a University faculty member, performing such duties as are appropriate to academic rank and position.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an ACGME-approved child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship.
- Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Illinois.
- ABPN board-certified in adult and child and adolescent psychiatry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry.
- Two or more years of experience in administration of educational programs.
