Architect
Description Leidos is seeking an Architect to assess and design the building enclosure for air traffic control facilities.
Must have specialized experience evaluating existing structures for suitability of materials, water intrusion, deterioration, energy efficiency, etc.
Location : Nashua NH, Burlington MA or College Park GA Up to 50% travelLeidos’ NISC IV Program (National Airspace System Integration Support Contract) is one of the largest and oldest programs supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
In this role you will support the FAA’s Eastern Service Area (ESA) evaluating the building enclosure of many existing air traffic control facilities, designing upgrades, reviewing new designs and recommending changes to improve the performance of building exteriors.
Architect Primary ResponsibilitiesPlan and design a variety of facility establishment, replacement and modernization projects with emphasis on the building enclosureConduct and analyze studies of existing facilitiesPerform on-site surveys to develop designs and detailed reportsInvestigate and develop solutions that involve multiple engineering disciplinesAnalyze project requirements, site conditions and user expectations and provide concise engineering recommendationsUtilize relevant software tools to assist in analysis and designGenerate sketches showing relation of proposed work in existing or new facilities with specifications and dimensionsPlan, schedule, and coordinate construction project activities to meet milestones and deadlines working directly with stakeholders and contractorsConfer with multi-disciplinary engineering staff and other personnel to identify and resolve problems with the design or implementationPrepareconstruction drawings, site-specific specifications, contract documents and independent cost estimatesReview contractor design and construction submittalsPerform project management related tasks and communication (including environmental and occupational safety and health plans, sequence of work, cutover plans, and operational risk management plans)Participate in on-site coordination meetings, inspections, cutovers, testing and restoration of facilitiesProvide periodic updates of project to team, management, and stakeholdersProvide monthly and semi-annual work status reportsTrack and reconcile closure of project punch-list exceptionsArchitect Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree from a four-year accredited collegeSpecialized experience evaluating existing structures for suitability of materials, water intrusion, deterioration, energy efficiency, etc.
Eight years of relevant experience in commercial, industrial or government facility establishment, replacement and modernization design engineering including leading design teams on large scale projectsSpecialized knowledge and experience with building enclosuresCurrent and relevant knowledge of building codes and standards related to design, testing and commissioningWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office products, engineering scheduling tools and applications, and be able to use the internet as an information gathering and communicating toolAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writingProficiency in engineering analysis and design software tools like AutoCADLeidos is a Fortune 500™ company aimed at embracing and solving some of the world’s most pressing challenges through science and technology.

Pay Range : Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
