Company Overview : Core Talent Services is proud to support our client in their search for a Director of Supply Chain & Procurement to support their ongoing manufacturing and distribution operations.
This position will report directly to the VP of Operations of the company. This Senior Procurement Executive plays a critical role in managing the procurement process for the manufacturing division.
This position is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that ensure the timely acquisition of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices, while fostering strong supplier relationships and supporting operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Procurement Planning :
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
Supplier Management :
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and performance assessments, facilitating continuous improvement initiatives.
Negotiation and Contract Management :
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to understand material requirements and production schedules.
- Collaborate with finance to manage budgets and forecasts related to procurement activities.
Inventory Management :
- Monitor inventory levels to optimize stock and reduce excess inventory costs.
- Implement inventory control measures to support manufacturing operations and minimize production disruptions.
Data Analysis and Reporting :
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, track savings, and report on procurement performance.
- Utilize procurement software and tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Team Leadership :
- Mentor and lead junior procurement staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Promote best practices in procurement processes across the organization.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
