Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building automation systems with at least 3 years of relevant experience, including 2 years as an automation technician.
This role requires a thorough understanding of automation system networks, electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming.
Relevant certifications in Niagara and Distech Controls are preferred not necessarily required. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities :
- Test, inspect, adjust, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues with dampers, actuators, sensors, valves, and other automation components.
- Identify mechanical equipment and related automation components from drawings for chillers, boilers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, etc.
- Understand and troubleshoot basic electrical control circuits, including 24VAC / DC power and controller inputs / outputs.
- Collaborate with the service department to order replacement materials and ensure prompt delivery and installation.
- Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems for service reports.
- Monitor, identify, and diagnose potential problems using computer workstations and on-site observations.
- Stay updated with industry advancements and incorporate new technologies and best practices to enhance the efficiency of building automation systems.
- Be available for rotating weekend shifts and on-call duties to address emergency service requests promptly.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years as an automation technician.
- Strong understanding of building automation system networks and protocols for effective problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Relevant certifications in Niagara and Distech Controls are highly preferred.
- Technical skills include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming .
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear interactions with clients and team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement changes.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and provide technical support to colleagues.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies within the field of building automation systems.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
