Position : Assistant Baker
Position Summary : Work alongside the Baker in the preparation and production of various Fat Badger Bakery cookies according to company specifications and instructions in an allotted time frame
Qualifications :
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally able to work in the United States
- Have working experience in a bakery and / or certificate from a trade school
- Ability to communicate verbally and understand and follow both written and verbal instruction
- Ability to handle weight up to 75 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds at all times
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and to tolerate brief exposure (with protection) to temperature extremes near ovens and in walk-in coolers
- Ability to walk, bend, climb (small step platform), lift, push, pull, stack, and maneuver objects
- Ability to be a team player, work with joy and enthusiasm in a sometimes fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to switch directions based on demand
- SERV Safe certified (or ability to obtain one in 6 months’ time)
- Basic computer skills. Flexibake experience a plus but not required
Performance Tasks :
- Maintain and organize proper storage and identification of ingredients and products safely and using the FIFO method
- Follow procedures to effectively prepare, measure, mix, form, and store cookie doughs under the supervision of the lead baker
- Prepare cookie orders for baking
- Bake cookies according to instructions and process for cooling
- Set-up, break-down, clean and maintain equipment and bakery space
- Follow standards for safe food practices and plant sanitation so as to comply with all health and safety codes
- Be available and flexible for occasional peak demand seasons of production
