POLITICO is seeking a results-driven marketing leader to oversee the U.S. marketing function across both our media solutions and professional subscriptions businesses.

As the Vice President of Marketing, you will be responsible for building and scaling for sustainable growth at POLITICO, while managing a cross-functional team that is focused on growth, customer, and product marketing.

Reporting to the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Professional Subscriptions, the Vice President will build a comprehensive funnel and experience for the POLITICO audience, while working on new client acquisition, current client engagement and retention, and initiatives for new production launches.

You will also be tasked with increasing awareness of our professional subscriptions value proposition in the market.

This role requires a deep understanding of the B2B and B2C models, excellent leadership and analytical skills, and a consistent track record of scaling businesses.

Additionally, we are looking for candidates who have experience developing and implementing marketing strategies for a wide portfolio of products, and who are comfortable working collaboratively and thoughtfully with many different teams and departments.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy for POLITICO, supporting multiple product portfolios as well as specific initiatives and launches across the business.
  • Build a marketing team that supports the stated goals of each business (lead generation for new logos, new users, new audiences, greater adoption / usage by current users and audiences).
  • Regularly assess and articulate tradeoffs priorities amongst POLITICO’s various businesses and products.
  • Chart the customer, audience, and user journey at POLITICO to establish a funnel that leads prospective paying subscribers from POLITICO.

  • Acquire targeted audiences for advertising-supported newsletters and foster the cross-registration of users across those newsletters, optimizing for retention and open rates.
  • Deepen engagement across our product and experience set using best-in-class marketing practices and data.
  • Focus on driving client engagement with all of POLITICO’s products and services, as well as behavior change around adoption of new product features and functionality.
  • Develop value-oriented messaging and go-to-market strategies that are both insightful, yet concise and incites action by both prospective and existing clients that differentiates POLITICO’s products in the market.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of client-facing resources, training support, and sales enablement tools.

What You’ll Need

  • 15+ years of experience in marketing for both consumer and B2B or subscription-based products and services.
  • Experience managing and growing cross-functional teams with business line and P&L responsibility.
  • Experience developing and executing full lifecycle marketing plans including creating content that drives demand and engagement.
  • A track record of building, launching, and scaling efficient processes and operations.
  • An outstanding executioner with exceptional coordination skills and the ability to track simultaneous initiatives.
  • A superior communicator and adept liaison working across multiple departments and stakeholder groups.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
