We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Technician with the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response in Frederick, MD.

POSITION SUMMARY :
The Pharmacy Technician in the Center for Response Logistics (CFR) within ASPR plays a critical role in supporting the Mission Support Program, focusing on maintaining pharmacy caches and kits for emergency medical response missions.
This unique role involves working in a warehouse environment, collaborating with pharmacists, and engaging in logistics and procurement tasks.
Responsibilities include managing pharmaceutical inventories, procurement processes, compliance with pharmaceutical storage requirements, and supporting various logistical functions to ensure preparedness for disaster responses.
TASKS. The contractor shall :
- Inventory Management : Manage ongoing inventories of drug products and pharmaceutical supplies, including procurement and inventory control.
- Procurement : Initiate pharmaceutical and medical supply orders, receive shipments, and ensure compliance with storage requirements.
- Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of prescriptions dispensed and pharmaceutical supplies, consult with pharmacists and staff, manage controlled substances, and ensure legal compliance.
- Asset Management : Process outdated or excess inventory, assist in acquisitions, and manage accountable property.
- Logging and Tracking : Log order receiving, track inventory items, and add valuations to asset inventories.
- Maintenance Coordination : Review biomedical maintenance schedules, coordinate services, and assist in equipment maintenance.
- Deployment Support : Assist in deploying pharmacy caches and kits during emergency responses.
- General Support : Maintain a clean and compliant pharmacy environment and assist other team members as needed.
- Reporting : Prepare and circulate inventory lists, compile reports, and assist in data analysis.
REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have :
- Education and Experience : A minimum of a High school diploma / GED and one-year full-time experience in a relevant setting such as a hospital, long-term care, mail order, or retail pharmacy, or working with a pharmaceutical distributor.
- Citizenship : Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Licensing : Must hold an unrestricted and current National or Maryland Pharmacy Technician license.
- Certification : Certified pharmacy technician preferred.
- Current Public Trust clearance or higher.
- Driver’s License : Maintain a valid state driver's license, with preference for a Commercial Driver’s License.
- Physical Requirements : Must be able to lift 50lbs and handle lifting and carrying supplies.
- Background Check : Successfully complete a personal background check for HHS credentials.
- Pharmaceutical Knowledge : Possess a working knowledge of pharmaceuticals and hold a valid certification, either state or national.
