Small Business Development Coordinator

The Small Business Development Coordinator will play a key role in supporting small business startups by interacting with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization, including clients, funders, and the public.
This role is responsible for developing strategies to advance our economic development goals and build a strong referral network.
They will also present the organization’s capabilities and offer essential support to small businesses by providing financial referrals, tools, and resources that help entrepreneurs make informed decisions about starting or growing their businesses.
A key part of this role involves building relationships with potential partners and funders and negotiating and closing business partnerships.
Additionally, the liaison will provide education and technical assistance to prospective clients, helping guide them toward success in their business ventures.
Hourly Pay Rate : $21.50
Schedule : Monday Friday; 8am 5pm (occasional tabling events evenings and / or Saturday’s)

QUALIFICATIONS
Education :
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate Degree preferred
Experience :
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- 2-4 years’ experience with Economic Development and Small Business Entrepreneurship required
- Demonstrate and provide strong communications skills both verbally and in writing.
- Maintain standards of confidentiality and professionalism at all times, including verbal and written client / family information.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES : General responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
- Actively participates in community activities that promote Economic Development and / or assist in business development, where applicable.
- Attends meetings including those sponsored by the state, funding sources, and other parties within the business development system.
Attend and participate in meetings and / or projects as requested by management.
- Complete and submit all required reports and documentation to finance and / or Grants and Contracts departments within the required timeframe.
- Coordinate technical assistance programs, such as workshops, as offered by Economic Development.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the program's purpose and goals, identifying and allocating resources that supports the purpose and goals of the program.
- Develop relationships within the community and making calls to prospective customers.
- Execute strategic initiatives by developing plans for new programs and revenue growth, improving current programs and processes, working with various committees / teams to execute the plans.
- Meets applicants and screens applications for completeness.
- Stay updated on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Represent A NEW LEAF and its mission in a variety of public and community settings, doing so in ways that uphold the highest in professional and moral ethics.

- Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation
- CLEAN 39 Month Motor Vehicle Record
- Current Auto Liability Insurance proof
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must be BILINGUAL Spanish / English
