Job Description : We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our school-based team in New York City, NY.
This role involves providing therapy services to students with a wide range of disabilities to improve their physical, cognitive, and social skills, helping them succeed in an educational environment.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify students' functional abilities and challenges related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on students' needs.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual and group sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' goals and progress.
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on students therapy needs and remendations for acmodations.
- Train teachers and families on strategies and tools to support students' occupational development in the classroom and at home.
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid New York State Occupational Therapy license.
- Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, munication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
