Design Engineer Milwaukee Area
Overview :
As a Design Engineer, you will focus on designing and testing embedded firmware for electronic controls used in commercial laundry equipment.
Our products serve a global market, including laundromats, hotels, hospitals, universities, apartment complexes, fire stations, and more.
This position requires onsite presence in Ripon, WI on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities :
- Participate in firmware-related projects and manage outsourced firmware development projects.
- Learn and become proficient in the microelectronic product portfolio.
- Assist in establishing firmware architecture requirements and writing microelectronic control design and test specifications.
- Help validate functional test equipment produced by contract control manufacturers against specifications.
- Support the maintenance of model configuration information for the microelectronic product portfolio.
- Engage in cross-functional product development activities, including team meetings, feature definition sessions, pilot builds, and reviews of user manuals.
- Assist in writing engineering change notifications and detailed lab test orders for execution by lab technicians.
- Investigate firmware issues, conduct root cause analysis, and contribute to resolution.
- Perform firmware development and testing on simulators and products in a lab environment.
- Identify opportunities for quality and cost improvements.
- Provide production support as needed.
- Manage vendor access to licensed developer applications and development tools / equipment.
Qualifications :
- Education & Experience :
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- years of programming experience.
- Previous project management experience is highly desirable.
- Firmware development experience with coding in C; experience with coding in lua and UI designer applications, , Storyboard, is a plus.
