WORK ARRANGEMENT : Hybrid (3 days / week in office) or Remote

LOCATION : San Francisco, CA

SALARY RANGE : $32.78 / hr-$40 / hr

OVERVIEW

The Camp Program Coordinator is a key, full-time staff position at LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired (LightHouse).

The Camp Program Coordinator reports to the Director, Camp and has responsibility to support the coordination, planning and development of all camp programs at all LightHouse campuses.

The Camp Program Coordinator works collaboratively with the Rehabilitation and Clinical Services leadership team to ensure training and program delivery systems meet the needs of blind, low vision and DeafBlind students of the LightHouse.

Camp Department

The Camp Department is a dynamic and dedicated team committed to creating unforgettable experiences for all LightHouse students.

The LightHouse Camp Department is focused on single and multi-day programming taking place at Enchanted Hills. The Camp team meticulously plans a variety of activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities of LH students.

From arts and crafts to sports and outdoor adventures, each program is designed to foster creativity, teamwork, and personal growth, with emphasis on inclusivity to ensuring all students feel welcome and supported.

Throughout the year, the team works tirelessly on internal and external program collaboration and community partnerships to make the camp accessible to all students and families.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • A preference of an associated degree in a social science field, professional nursing degree, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a community-centered setting.
  • Preference for candidates with experience working with students who are blind and have concomitant health conditions, disabilities including but not limited to deafness / hearing loss, stroke, Cortical / Cerebral visual impairment, etc.

Subject matter expert knowledge of the expanded core curriculum.

  • Bicultural and bilingual welcomed, particularly in languages like American Sign Language, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, Tagalog, and / or Vietnamese is highly desired.
  • Experience working with Medicare, Medi-Cal or other third-party billing entities and their requirements for documentation is preferred.
  • Training and / or formal understanding of health-related terminology and understanding of health conditions.
  • Must comply with HIPAA regulations in all communications and handling of documents.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with conscientiousness and respect.
  • A high level of social-emotional intelligence, demonstrating patience and empathy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong coaching skills, including positive problem solving and professional communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to relate to staff, blind / visually impaired students, and persons in the community with varied backgrounds and viewpoints.
  • Ability to formulate individual, sequential training plan.
  • Ability to move about within a variety of environmental conditions.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and in possession of problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
  • Grant and project oversight abilities.
  • Experience in database entry. Salesforce or other database experience required.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Familiarity and knowledge of Zoom and / or other web conferencing platforms.
  • Maintain up-to-date First Aid and CPR certifications, to be paid for by LightHouse.
  • Knowledge of braille desired.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Group Training and Classes Support
  • Coordinate all aspects of group courses, including database management, calendar scheduling, student enrollment, course set up and instructor coordination.
  • Accurately input student data into Salesforce and any relevant Electronic Health Record systems (EHR) in a timely manner.

Collaborate with Service Navigators, Intake Coordinators, and the direct service team to ensure service provision in line with the student's individualized service plan.

  • Whole Person Care Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Service Navigators in the coordination of both internal and external service authorizations.
  • Work with department directors and program managers to ensure students have been contacted within a timely manner and document status of student participation.
  • ASL and Spoken Language Interpretation Coordination

Manage the ASL and spoken language resources need for the department, to include scheduling of interpreters and processing of vendor invoices.

  • Equipment Coordination
  • Assists Directors with purchasing office supplies, program supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinates student equipment and supplies, ensuring accessibility (Large Print and Braille) and organization.
  • Administrative Support
  • Provides administrative assistance to Directors and Service Providers, particularly related to MS Office and Database Management.
  • Helps Directors maintain Department Sharepoint site and create accessible documents.
  • Attend monthly Camp Staff meetings.
  • Grant Tracking and Billing
  • Creates Salesforce Reports for Directors to track various grants to help monitor progress.
  • Manages procurement and billing for department equipment.
  • Prepares monthly reporting and / or billing for grants.
  • Ensure entry of all student service data into Salesforce and other relevant systems within 5 days of service date.
  • Submit monthly reporting, billing, and reimbursements accurately and timely by the 5

business day of the month.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Ability to carry or transport 20lbs
  • Sit / Stand at a desk and perform computer-intensive work for extended periods of time daily.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to independently travel to all LightHouse physical locations and events, as well as throughout Northern California up to Eureka, to provide services as needed.
