Position Information Posting Number : 0601053-NC Position Type : Faculty Pools Position Title : Medical Assistant Faculty, Part-time Employment Requirement Drug Test and Criminal Background Check Division / Department : Medical Assisting Location Healthcare Occupations Center, Lebanon, OR Job Summary : Provide current expertise in phlebotomy, EKG, and / or clinical office, administrative office procedures and medical terminology for students enrolled in the Medical Assistant, and Coding and Reimbursement programs.
Must be able to work with and teach students of all cultures, backgrounds, abilities and perspectives. Required Qualifications : Certification as a Medical Assistant by a nationally recognized agency is required from any of the following AAMA, NCCT, AMT plus the equivalent of four years full-time related experience in a medical setting;
OR the equivalent combination of related education and experience. Medical Assistant faculty must direct student learning and assess student progress in achieving the requirements of the program adhering to the MAERB Core Curriculum objectives included in their assigned teaching.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug test. Preferred Qualifications : Prior teaching experience or education background.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions : Requires the ability to work with staff and students.
Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards. Essential Duties : Teach Basic Electrocardiography Techniques, Phlebotomy for Medical Assistants, and / or Clinical Office Procedures courses.
Participate in department discussions concerning curriculum, especially as it relates to assigned classes.
Maintain a student-centered learning environment which includes class management, appropriate assessment strategies, and attention to different learning styles of a variety of students.
Communicate with Department Chair, and other department faculty concerning classroom activities in a team-oriented approach.
