The Senior Manager, Capital Projects operates within the Real Estate, Facilities and Engineering department. This position develops facility projects (lab, office and Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) Manufacturing), both renovation and new construction, to support the Sarepta Capital Improvement Program, from initiation stage through planning, design and construction.

This position manages and coordinates the activities of an assigned project to ensure that goals or objectives are accomplished within the specified timeframe and funding parameters.

This position will also function as the Subject Matter Expert on HVAC and utility systems. The person will apply advanced scientific knowledge, engineering knowledge, mathematics, and ingenuity to complete complex assignments related to capital projects and process troubleshooting.

Primary Responsibilities Include :

  • Develops conceptual plans and budgets for facilities projects to support fiscal decision-making.
  • Coordinates with proponent groups and committees to facilitate facility planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Develops planning documents for initiation of projects to gain approval at Sarepta.
  • Prepares requests for proposals and conducts all necessary meetings to facilitate hiring architectural and construction management services.
  • Monitors and reports on all phases of planning and construction.
  • Coordinates projects with facilities, EHS, Information Technology, and other users to facilitate the installation of equipment, inventory, and other items.
  • Coordinates all parties involved in the planning, design, and construction process.
  • Develops and maintains facility project budgets.
  • Prepares contract change orders and monitors their execution.
  • Monitors construction contract close-out and maintains documentation files.
  • Coordinates with facility occupants move-in to new facilities.
  • Assists in development of new standards of practice for Project Management activities with the Sarepta system.
  • Provides subject matter expertise for Mechanical, HVAC, Utilities, and other engineering disciplines as necessary.
  • Interfaces with all levels of management in designing and delivering new facilities and modifying existing facilities.
  • Works with large A&E and Construction firms to deliver new office, lab, and production facilities.
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned.

Desired Education and Skills :

  • B.S. / M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in the Pharma / Biotech industry as project manager in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast paced environment and lead multiple capital projects.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
  • Understanding of all HVAC and utility systems and ability to work with outside contractors.
  • Familiar with cGMP regulations and principles, and how to apply them to the development and manufacturing of pharmaceutical / biotech products.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and reconcile differences.
  • Knowledge of facilities planning and construction management processes and procedures; including interpreting plans and specifications and to compare them with construction progress.
  • General knowledge of work order, purchasing, and administrative processes.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to perform detailed analysis of data and information and make recommendations.
  • Candidate must be able to travel nationally for up to 30% of the time.

This position requires work on site at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States.

The targeted salary range for this position is $132,000 - $165,000 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges.

The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta’s compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
