Job Description
Utah State Developmental Center is seeking a Supervising Psychologist which is to serve as a statewide resource center for people with disabilities while promoting opportunity through choice and outcome based support.
This will be accomplished by providing critical services, support and resources for the intellectually disabled individuals that reside at our facility.
Principle duties :
- Clinically and directly supervise and participate in the delivery of professional psychological services
- Conducting diagnostic testing and assessment
- Developing treatment plans
- Supervising staff
Ideal candidate :
- Licensed as a practicing Psychologist in Utah
- Two or more years of experience working with developmentally and intellectually disabled individuals
- Two or more years of experience as a supervisor

Example of Duties
The Supervising Psychologist will oversee the psychology team working in the Utah State Developmental Center.
This person will directly supervise and clinically participate in the delivery of professional psychological services in the areas of :
- Diagnostic testing and assessment
- Treatment planning and implementation
- Program development and implementation
- Coordination of services
- Other duties, as relevant for the needs of the hospital and program
Typical Qualifications :
- Supervises subordinate personnel including : hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
- Plans, coordinates and implements psychological services provided to clients / patients; evaluates and reports on quality of services in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Develops or modifies rules, policies, or standards, etc.
- Develops and implements treatment plans to help clients mobilize inner capacities and resources to improve social functioning.
- Documents client / patient progress and revises treatment plans as required; completes administrative paperwork.
- Consults with others to discuss treatment plans, new or unusual situations, findings, options, and recommendations on client / patient cases.
- Provides consultation, makes recommendations, gives appropriate advice, and / or facilitates decisions related to public information.
- Acts as an expert witness. Gives testimony and / or recommendations in court cases and / or hearings.
- Discuss results, findings and / or recommendations with appropriate parties.
- Selects, administers and interprets biofeedback, psychological tests and other psychological training and assessments.

- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice psychology in Utah
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated success with supervising, training / coaching subordinates
