Description
Work Performed : To assist clients and their families with psychosocial problems that arise as a result of the participant's disability.
To provide individual, family and group counseling to program participants. To assist Adult Day Services Social Worker with referrals, intake and the admissions process, provide clerical assistance to include but not be limited to typing, filing, organizing and maintaining participant charts.
Equipment Used : Computer, printer, fax, telephone, telephone answering machine, copy machine, typewriter and Medi-Cal verification system (AEVS).
Position Qualification : Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other related field from an accredited college or university.
Must have pervious experience in social services, preferably in a medical setting with disabled adults. Must have the ability to work collaboratively as a team member and possess knowledge / understanding of community resources.
CPR and First Aid certification required. Must be able to perform all job duties.
Essential Functions Of The Job : Must have strong clinical counseling skills, Knowledge, experience, and comfort working with disabled adults and their family members.
Must be familiar with medical conditions, the components of rehabilitation and community resources. Must be able to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Speak and understand English proficiently in order to communicate clearly with staff, clients, family members, and the community.
Must project a positive company image by maintaining professional appearance, attire, attitude, and conduct.
Physical Requirements : Ability to stand, sit, walk, life, transfer, and carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, push as well as pull.
Visual and auditory skills acceptable for providing supervision. Ability to walk on varied terrain which includes carpet, tile, and may include ascending / descending stairs.
Ability to write / type clearly and concisely. Ability to work within an office area which includes reaching for charts, opening / closing of file cabinets, retrieving / replacing items of shelves.
Method Of Pay : Hourly, NON-EXEMPT
Hours Of Work : 30 Hours / Week (P / T position) between the hours of 7 : 30 am - 4 : 00 pm M-F
Supervised By : Adult Services Social Worker and Program Director
Supervises : Assists with the supervision of Social Worker Interns
