A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FOOD SERVICE WORKER
- Prepares a well-balanced and healthy menu each day.
- Follows all requests for special diets in order to assure good patient health.
- Maintains the kitchen area and supplies in a clean, safe and sanitary manner, upholding the standards of all federal, state and local licensure / regulations.
- Ensures that appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, freezer, etc.) are in operable condition.
- Places work orders on all appliances as needed.
- Maintains inventory and submits food / beverage orders to supervisor on a weekly basis.
- Receives menus and orders food for other programs.
- Maintains weekly / monthly food menu according to state / agency standards.
- Develops programming to improve life skills of clients (cooking programs).
SCHEDULE FOR A FOOD SERVICE WORKER
This position is working a 4 day work week! Hours are 10 hour shifts, rotating weekends, and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FOOD SERVICE WORKER
- Must be able to read and write; follow written and verbal instructions
- Measure and adapt recipes
- Operate a microwave, stove top and oven
- Maintain good personal hygiene and kitchen.
