HS Tech Group is growing our Home Automation & Security Team and is looking for an experienced technician familiar with legacy (Interlogix, GE, Napco, DSC, Ademco) and new systems (2Gig, Qolsys, Neo, Resideo, and Alarm.com etc.).

Ability to Install and troubleshoot a wide range of systems is a plus!

JOB DESCRIPTION

We provide the top line of custom-designed security systems that have kept families and businesses in the Mid-Atlantic safe for more than 30 years.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable technician.

This position is mid-level to senior level and may have some crossover into commercial projects.

• Perform installations for security, video surveillance and automation including : pulling cable, installing components, programming systems, performing customer orientations
• Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
• Use hand and power tools to crimp connectors along with various other AV systems related tasks
• Field installation and service of thousands of existing systems along with providing upgrade paths and in the field sales
• Responsible for job documentation as needed
• Local Travel to various job sites required

Skills and Abilities

• Effectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
• Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
• Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office programs
• Common knowledge of networking and IP platforms
• Knowledge of alarm.com and various home automation platforms
• Ability to manage small to medium sized projects
• Willingness to learn on the job as well as through online course study
• Ability to LISTEN to the Customer and resolve issues while keeping both company and the customers best interests in mind

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR PROGRAM

• High School degree or equivalent; some college, preferred
• Verification of industry certifications
• Excellent computer and documentation skills
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations
• Willingness and ability to learn and possibly train others
• Ability to work effectively both on an individual basis and as part of a team
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to pass criminal background check, Clean Driving Record check and drug screen
