The Quality Supervisor will oversee implementation, maintenance and compliance to Customer, Regulatory, & WestRock processes and procedures.

Works with divisional and site management and personnel to plan, develop, implement and continually improve relevant QMS requirements, and to ensure sustainable compliance to customer, regulatory and QMS requirements, operating in and promoting the WestRock way via our policies and procedures.

Responsible for managing and monitoring

QA 's performance, proactively addressing areas of conflict and underperformance and recognizing

areas of teamwork and high performance. Communicate as required. .

The Quality Supervisor focuses on compliance, customers, and continuous improvement activities to create a total quality culture and reduce quality costs in line with best practice procedures.

You will implement, sustain, and improve Food Packaging Safety and Quality systems, and to assure continued compliance with SQF, customer and regulatory requirements.

Additionally, you will promote a total quality philosophy at all levels developing a culture of right first time and continuous improvement.

How you will impact WestRock :

  • Provide leadership and direct the activities of the quality assurance team to assure Food Packaging Safety and Quality processes are maintained and executed in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with the department managers, leadership staff, and associates to develop a quality assurance culture within the plant focused on customer satisfaction, Food Packaging Safety and Quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Work with customers, the account managers, sales, and plant personnel to establish technical requirements for the product and services provided, and to resolve customer complaints effectively and efficiently.
  • You will drive plant accountabilities in : tracking vendor performance, resolution and disposition of customer complaints, investigating critical quality defects on in-process and finished products, generation and analysis of quality data and reports.
  • Ensure all customer feedback is promptly dealt with and complaints are acted upon by the plant using root cause analysis and implementing corrective action.
  • Drive and develop systems and people to meet the highest standards; your collaborative approach will make a real difference in our Quality Management Systems
  • Achieves desired results by diagnosing, designing, implementing, then ensuring division’s processes, practices and procedures are fully and consistently adhered within the plant by working directly with all plant personnel including sales, design, customer service, planning, manufacturing, and shipping / delivery
  • Interact with corporate and divisional resources to assure compliance with corporate requirements, and to communicate plant performance in Food Packaging Safety and Quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the compliance of all department employees and processes with all food safety and quality regulations (SQF, HACCP) as well as ISO regulations.
  • Ensure the compliance of all department employees with the safety rules and regulations set forth by WestRock. Ensure that a safe workplace is maintained at all times and that the habits and practices of every employee hold safety as the top priority.
  • The Quality Supervisor shall serve as the primary SQF Practitioner
  • While this role is onsite, you will need to travel as required to participate in audits, team meetings, customer meetings, vendor evaluations, etc.

What you need to succeed :

  • High School diploma or GED is required, Bachelor's Degree in a technical field is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quality Leadership role in a manufacturing environment; Printing and / or Packaging industry experience is a plus
  • Experience with and working knowledge of quality systems and tools and regulatory requirements
  • Experience interfacing with customers to resolve quality issues and ability to communicate company quality processes
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Root cause analysis and problem-solving, focus on continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma a plus
  • Skilled in information handling, analysis, and presentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and QMS systems
  • Certification or experience in SQF Implementation, HACCP, and Internal Auditing are preferred
  • Ability to learn proprietary software programs and leverage enterprise complaint management software
  • Ability to engage and inspire others to comply with quality standards
  • Must have good communication and leadership skills.

The salary range for this position is $61,125.00 - $101,875.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.
