A bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and one year of experience in information technology; or 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and one year of professional experience in information technology.
Two years of professional experience in information technology.

Duties Description Under the direction of an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG-25, within Shared Platforms Services, Middleware Services, the Information Technology Specialist 2, SG-18, will assist with administration and support the Secure File Transfer for NYS Public Safety agencies.
This position may require some On-Call responsibilities.
Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Assist with transforming the highly critical DOCCS File Transfer job into GoAnywhere.
- Maintain SFTP daily secure data transfers; develop and maintain process design documentation, end user guides, and operating procedures.
- Automate tasks using Unix Scripts and maintain any existing shell scripts on AIX, Linux and Windows operating Systems.
- Participate in testing, implementation, and support of all system upgrades and patches to the systems, services, and technologies.
- Diagnose and resolve complex system configuration, production, and deployment problems within secure data transfer systems;
perform quality checks on transfer and automations systems; troubleshoot and support SFTP processes.
- Work closely with internal / external customers on data transfers.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain File Transfer processes.
- Work on IT Modernization and Integration efforts with client agences and ITS.
- Adhere to ITS policies and procedures.
- Provide regular updates to supervisor on projects and tasks assigned.
