The Mass Spectrometry Division’s Quadrupole R&D group is looking for an intern chemist to actively contribute to a high-profile project within our division.

Duration :
A minimum of 3 months rolling period starting in June, July, or August.
Responsibilities and Tasks :
As a Chemist intern in our Quadrupole R&D group, you will be an integral part of our core engineering and science team for the summer.
Your responsibilities will include :
Chemical Validation and Testing :
Characterize instrument performance across various scenarios, including corner cases and best-case scenarios.
Conduct scientific experiments to stress and push our instruments to their limits.
Execute validation plans to establish instrument specifications.
Collaboration and Multifunctional Support :
Work closely with the core team, filling gaps and contributing your unique insight and knowledge to ongoing projects.
Collaborate with expert instrumentation scientists, chemists, engineers to develop mass spectrometry instrumentation.
Embrace a multifunctional role, potentially working with other groups such as software and marketing; leveraging your knowledge and insight.
Qualifications
Educational Background :
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a graduate program (chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, physics, or related applied fields such as biological, environmental, pharmaceutical, etc...).
Strong foundation in mass spectrometry principles and applications.
Experience :
Hands-on experience running experiments in mass spectrometry and chromatography. (LC / MS and GC / MS).
Hands-on experience with a variety of sample introduction methods such as infusion, gas-chromatography, and liquid-chromatography.
Optional Skills :
Hands-on experience with Agilent LC / MS and GC / MS acquisition systems (MassHunter, ChemStation, OpenLab CDS, etc ).
Functional experience in scientific programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or SimION.
The US pay rate for this position is $$ per hour, plus eligibility for paid holidays and medical benefits. Our pay rates are determined by role, level and location.
