CareerWise is a nationally-recognized nonprofit organization that creates life-changing opportunities for the youngest generation of America’s workforce.

We build industry-led, student-centered, modern youth apprenticeships through classroom and on-the-job learning providing flexible, alternative pathways to economic mobility.

We have hundreds of CareerWise apprentices in the workplace, charting new paths to academic and career success. In addition, workforce and education leaders from across the country have visited CareerWise to learn about our youth apprenticeship model.

As a result, our programs have launched in multiple states, leveraging our institutional knowledge, technology, and infrastructure.

We’re looking for someone who can champion participating in CareerWise youth apprenticeships in Colorado to both students and their schools and districts.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, CareerWise Colorado (CWC), the Manager of Student Recruitment plays a crucial role in establishing and leading strategic partnerships between high school students, school districts and the CareerWise youth apprenticeship programs and services.

What You’ll Be Doing :

  • STUDENT RECRUITMENT You will develop and own full life-cycle student-centered recruiting and engagement techniques to attract high-potential students to CWC youth apprenticeship opportunities.
  • TALENT IDENTIFICATION You have a keen awareness of assessing apprenticeship opportunities and matching them with interested students to produce successful apprenticeship placements.
  • COLLABORATION EXPERT Using your enthusiasm for youth apprenticeship and your excellent communication skills, you will create a culture of collaboration with school district partners where you will foster long-term partnerships and together, champion youth apprenticeship opportunities for students.
  • DATA ANALYSIS You will manage and report youth apprenticeship participation data and outcomes. You can tell a story with the data to inspire students, schools, and districts to engage with CWC youth apprenticeship opportunities.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Key competencies to be successful in this role :

  • You will oversee, supervise, and mentor team members
  • You have a successful track record of relating with and influencing students in the secondary education age group
  • You have a passion to drive the narrative about the benefits of youth apprenticeships with students and school leaders throughout the Denver metro area (and elsewhere in Colorado)
  • Quickly builds rapport and gains trust with students, school leaders, and other community partners
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the principles of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)
  • Lives out the CareerWise values and has a passion for the CareerWise mission and vision

Additional proficiencies :

  • You must have previous supervisory and leadership experience (preferably in the education sector)
  • You must also have previous experience creating, implementing, and owning student-centered strategic recruiting and engagement processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management software (like Monday.com)
  • Familiarity with CRM and / or other databases ( preferably Salesforce)
  • Experience and comfort working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to understand and interpret the multiple complexities of the evolving youth apprenticeship movement

Location :

This role is based in Denver, Colorado. CareerWise staff typically work a hybrid work schedule with varying days in the office and other days remote.

Remote work is not guaranteed and the schedule must be approved by the supervisor. There may be occasions (possibly 1-3 times per year) for staff to gather together in person.

Exceptions will be made for special circumstances.

Compensation :

The starting salary range for this role is : $66,306 (min) - $82,219 (max) annually; this role is not covered by the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the FLSA.

CareerWise offers a generous benefits package including group medical, dental, and vision plans, short-term disability, 100% vested 401k plan with a 3% employer contribution, and flexible time off.

Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination for use of standard office equipment.
