Description
Purpose and Scope of Position
Accountant I will assist in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded.
Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues
Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Accounting Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
This position may also help with other accounting responsibilities, including but not limited to :
- Work on received mails and route invoices for validation
- Ensure coding and entering of invoices after the necessary approvals have been acquired
- Validate invoices for payment and prints out checks
- Gather checks and invoices together for endorsement
- Credit card reconciliations
- Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Create invoices according to company practices; submit invoices to customers
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
Qualifications
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications (i.e. education, certifications, etc...)
No experience is required. However, the candidate must be very detailed oriented. Proper training will be provided to ensure the success of the candidate.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15-lbs.
